Yahoo to Cut 5% of Workforce

According to reports from Bloomberg, Yahoo will cut 5% — or roughly 700 jobs — as growth slows down. I think this is an unfortunate but necessary move. Google is dominating the search market right now at around 65% (and growing). Yahoo’s profit has been declining each quarter for almost 2 years straight. We might be one step closer to the prediction of many for 2008: the Microsoft and Yahoo merge. It seems like that’s the only way they can compete against the juggernaut.
