UPDATE: I incorrectly stated that iPhone users can’t take advantage of this update. They still can, in fact, go to m.youtube.com on their iPhone. Clicking on a video in that web interface will launch the phone’s built-in YouTube player.
YouTube users can do much more while on the go with the latest feature update.
With the expanded mobile offering, YouTube users also can access their accounts, favorites, videos, channels, and directly upload and share content from mobile phones. Another new feature is the ability to rate and post comments on the go.
Sorry iPhone users, you need a 3G phone to access the new features. The iPhone-YouTube update probably won’t happen until the next iPhone update gets pushed out, which could be a few months. The latest version, 1.1.3, was just released in January ‘08.
